When AUC (Associated Underground Contractors) was founded over 55 years ago, it represented the interests of over 500 members statewide with the majority of its members being underground contractors.  Since then, the organization expanded to include many other areas of Michigan’s heavy construction industry and has evolved to become Michigan’s Heavy Construction Association.  This organization included other new industries such as road/bridge building, electrical contracting, painting and more.  The Association’s member companies benefited from a variety of services including labor relations, legislative representation, construction safety services, and regulatory involvement from other entities such as the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and more – they provide utility damage consultation, seminars, and publications among other relevant information.

The Michigan Center for Truck Safety is a non profit organization dedicated to improving highway safety through safer truck travel.  The Center provides Michigan’s trucking industry with a variety of free educational programs and services.
